Frequently asked questions
Is this image compressor free?
Yes. You can compress unlimited images for free, with no sign-up required.
What image formats are supported?
JPEG, PNG and WebP, up to 15 MB per file.
Why does this tool upload my image, unlike your other tools?
Image compression needs more processing power than a browser can efficiently provide, so this tool runs on our server rather than locally. Your image is compressed in memory and returned directly in the same request — we never write it to disk, store it or share it.
What quality setting should I use?
Higher quality (80-100%) keeps more detail with a larger file size. Lower quality (10-50%) gives a much smaller file with more visible compression. 80% is a good default for most photos.
Do you keep my uploaded or compressed images?
No. Nothing is saved anywhere — your image exists only for the moment it takes to process the request, then it is gone.
